Editorial and Communications Assistant

We are seeking a talented and motivated writer, editor and content producer to join the Digital Media and Learning Research Hub dedicated to advancing digital media, learning, and participatory culture.

The editorial and communication assistant will be responsible for contributing to a team of content producers for print and digital, for ensuring the quality of all of the content with which we work, and for supporting the publication of an academic report series on digital media and learning published by MIT Press.

Candidate needs to be passionate about the use of the Internet, mobile technology, social media, interactive media, and video games for learning and social enterprise, and be prepared to work hard to support the editorial and communication needs in order to help equip a coalition for change.

This position will assist with the following: editorial and communication production process and publication for both print and digital; with strategic communication activities for advocacy and outreach to partners, constituencies, and news media; with management and maintenance of content for websites; with social networking efforts. The incumbent will also assist Hub staff with communication and editorial needs as they arise, as well as conduct research to support communication and editorial needs.

Work Schedule: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., M-F
Contract Position.
This is a 100% year-long contract position, with possibility of renewal, contingent on grant funding.
